Bushfire Appeal

For the April to June 2020 rating quarter, Brisbane City Council residential owner-occupier ratepayers were given the option to support bushfire relief by choosing to donate their $15 early payment discount to the Trust’s Bushfire Appeal.

A total of $58,800 was raised for the Bushfire Appeal from the generosity of almost

4,000 Brisbane residents participating in this donation initiative.

The Trust was also fortunate to receive a number of generous donations directly from members of the public.

More than $110,000 was raised via these direct donations.

The Trust passed all funds raised for the Bushfire Appeal to the following charities to help people and animals most in need throughout Queensland. These charities were chosen for their ability to distribute funds to where it is needed most.

  • Queensland Country Women's Association - Public Rural Crisis Fund

  • Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital

  • The Salvation Army
