Council has donated 23 Council Chamber chairs, which were retired from service at the end of 2002, to the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust. Council has also retained two of the chairs for viewing by the general public.

The first of the chairs were part of the original furnishings of City Hall. Additional chairs were purchased in subsequent years as the number of wards increased.

Brisbane residents can express their interest in a chair by filling out the form below. Expressions of interest close at 5pm on 15 Janurary 2018. A random draw of all applicants will take place after the closing date. Only successful applicants will be notified.

The estimated value of each chair is $150, and successful applicants will be asked to make a contribution of this value to the Trust.

The chairs will be issued with a letter of authenticity. They are in varying condition and they will be provided for pick up ‘as is’. Further details regarding collection will be provided to successful applicants after 15 January 2018.

Please note preference in this expression of interest will be given to Brisbane residents. The random draw will be conducted by the Trust and the outcome of this draw is final. Only one chair is available per person. By completing this form you acknowledge that a $150 contribution to the Trust will be payable if you are selected via the random draw of applicants and the Trust’s decision about eligibility for the expression of interest is final.

I will make a $150 contribution to the Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust if drawn as a successful applicant.
