Due to caretaker mode the grants will be assessed post election with notification in mid April.

Easter and Christmas Appeals, Grant Round Dates
- Easter round opens 6 February 2012
- Easter round closes 05 March 2012
- Christmas applications open 24 September 2012
- Christmas applications close 19 November 2012
Applications must be mailed with full supporting documentation to the Lord Mayor's Community Trust contact address.

The grant application process specifies that:
- Applicants must be a registered business or incorporation with non-profit objectives.
- Applicants must have a letter of DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient status) from the ATO.
- Applicants must supply evidence of their charitable purposes eg. Detailed in their constitution.
- Applications for grants must be valued at $10,000 or less.
- The Trust does not provide general grants for infrastructure building or improvements or purchasing vehicles.
- The Trust will give priority for grants to charities located within the City of Brisbane.
The Lord Mayor’s Community Trust is an Ancillary Fund (and a Public Fund) within the meaning of the Australian Tax Act, established solely for the purpose of providing money, property or benefits to another fund, authority or institution which has been endorsed by the ATO as Deductible Gift Recipient.
